Empress 80 is the powdered form of Polysorbate 80 (Tween 80). Here, Polysorbate 80 has been adsorbed in selected adsorbent to prepare a stable white powder for direct tablet and capsule use. The main use of Empress 80 is as a surfactant for enhancement of drug solubility. It avoids processing issues of liquid Tween 80 and helps prevent yellow patches on tablets. It works effectively for Atorvastatin, Clomifene Citrate, Rosuvastatin, Fenofibrate, and other APIs where solubility is a challenge.
